It has been a while....

Well, I suppose I should dust off the blog. Where have I been? I went to Florida to visit my mother-in-law. The weather was nice. All hell broke loose here at home while I was gone. My son is living back with us. Relationship ended. Badly. Very, very depressing.

I'm trying to get into the holiday spirit but it has been darn near impossible when one's head wants to explode on a daily basis. I'm sure it will get better.

I did manage to do Staci's block for BUBK yesterday. I will mail it to her on Monday and it is going to be one cool quilt when she puts it together.

It was fun to make and it was relaxing to sew even though I was quite ill yesterday. I think the stress of my December thus far just caught up with me.

There are tons of things I need to do before Christmas. might be one of those things. I've not done too much yet. I now have two Christmas trees up that are not decorated but a little progress has been made. Garland on the big tree and the ribbon and about 6 balls on the smaller tree in the tv room. I will work on these trees tomorrow.

I need to make two table runners, a gift for our Guild's holiday party and I am so sure there were thousands of other things to make. Oh yes, napkins. Maybe I can get the napkins done. I really want to make the table runners though. I'll see if I can find some time. I probably ought to make this blog a little more festive. I'll have to work on that and it is usually a struggle. I'm just not as computer savvy as I would like to be.

All for now. Oh, I did notice the 2012 Pantone color of the year and that will make me super happy. Tangerine Tango. I love it.

  1. Debbie, so sorry about your son. I know how difficult that is. Thinking of you all. I had great plans to create so much, but life really changed my plans this year. The 'shoulds' can really guilt me, but not going to go there. I don't want you to, either. You are so inspiring and encouraging. Your blog is fun just as it is. No need for you to 'holiday' it up. I love the orange!! :) So....making lemonade and being thankful for what I do have - your friendship is one of those things. Hugs and lots of love! :)

  2. Thank you, Vickie. Your kind words mean so much to me. I did manage to get my two trees decorated this morning. I feel a little better about that and it should help me get into a little more "holidayish mood". :)
