I think I've said it before but I'm going to say it again: Where has this year gone. I guess as we get older the years seem to scream by. hehe
Thanksgiving 2010 is in the history books. We had a very nice time. Good food, good friends, good family. It was nice. I have a good husband who always, always does the dishes cleanup. (secret: he's sort of a neat freak. Okay - no sort of about it - he is a neat freak!!!)
Here was the main course and the crowd (minus the husband who was taking the picture)
Over the long weekend I managed to get my 3x6 Holiday Swap blocks done and in the mail on Saturday. I also finished my postcards which went out yesterday. I was able to get them out before the deadlines (which were looming).
We also spent time decorating for the season and there seemed to be a table runner that was missing for the dining room table. I cannot find it. I have no clue where it is. My house is tiny - not that many hidey holes. I just do not know where it went. So we have this burgundy tablecloth on the table. Looks awful. So....I whipped up a table runner from the 2008-2009 Quilting Arts special magazine. It is not done yet but it is ready to be quilted (hopefully today). It is kind of odd how I manage to get some things whipped up with no thinking involved.
The "studio" is a MESS!!!! This comes from tossing fabric and fusible web all around. Today I am going down there with a vacuum and I will put everything away that is not being used. I'm going to take an empty tote bin and put all the UFO's in it and store them outside the room for the time being. I must make room for Queen Peach for tomorrow. Her table is not visible a the present time.
We are waiting for an order from Accuquilt. Nancy wanted to make some placemats and I ordered the tumbler die. I also ordered a storage rack. It was the deal of the day for $9.99. Normally $22.99. Good deal.
Hubby and I did a little Christmas shopping yesterday. I always feel better when I get it started. We are scaling down this Christmas. The true meaning of the holiday gets lost in gifts pricey or otherwise and we just can't muster up the enthusiasm anymore. (must be another age thing or it falls into the "too much stuff" category). When we got back we decorated the front of the house. Here's a pic but it's a little blurry. I am not the best photographer but I like taking pictures.
Enjoy your day. I'm on the move to get mine going.....
How fun to be 'included' in your holiday weekend recap! I especially love that Christmas tree wall hanging!!! (and the turkey...I need to go eat breakfast!!!!)
