We are now in the "Festive Months"

Halloween has come and gone. Not one trick or treater and I've got to get the excess candy out of the house! It is just not good to have around. :)

I guess it is festive all year but I think that November and December take on a heightened sense of festiveness. Is that a word? :) It is a cozy time of the year. Comfort foods, fireplaces, decorating one's house. I like this time of the year. I love to decorate. I'm not always successful but I figure if it makes me happy then all is well!

We had a nice quiet weekend. Raking leaves on Saturday. We have tons and tons. It was crisp outside. Just fun. I played with my granddog, who, for once, was playful enough to be enjoyable. He loves my son so much that he really can't attach himself to us. I'm okay with that.

Yesterday morning I got the bright idea that I needed to whip something up for my mother-in-law. So I did.

The feathery fabric will be the backing. I purchased it years ago while living in San Diego. Actually it was for something that I was going to make for her but never did. She collects roosters. I thought it was perfect. As a matter of fact, it is called Poultry in Motion. Perfect! It is all from stash, too. Did not have to purchase anything. I like that.

Today I will quilt it and work on the binding during the evenings this week. I'm also planning to work on my postcards this week. All in my head but they should get done. Someday I will make that purse for me. Someday. There's always something else to do. Oh well.

The Patriots won. Yippee. Not that I am a huge football fan but...I do like the home team.

Not that I am rushing any 24 hour day but I will be so glad when tomorrow is over. I am just so tired of not answering my phone unless I know who is calling and getting junk in the mail. It is so discouraging.

Have a good day. Maybe I will get potholders in the mail today. That would be fun.
