February! It's a wrap!!!

It has been a very productive month! Even being gone for a week to Hawaii and I got lots of things completed. It helped that we had a few snow/sew days. Today was another of those with freezing rain. I just decided I was not going anywhere. So I did my 3x6 blocks. All 6 of them. Yea, me.

I'm happy to have this project wrapped up. They will go out in the mail tomorrow.

I have been receiving lots of blocks from the Bee in my Bonnet group. It was my month and I have this crazy idea for a wall hanging. This may turn out to be a larger wall hanging than I anticipated as these gals have been generous in making blocks. I appreciate that.

On my "to do" list: I have Monika's QJRR block to do. I have to pick a color for this one. Orange was already done. I'm stumped and I need to think it through. Oh well, my brain needs a work out once in a while! :)

I just received the package from Jen for March's Bee in my Bonnet. Another fun one to do. I will also have the UFO March project but I won't know which one until tomorrow.

I just might get to make the BOM for the Quilt Guild this month. I feel kind of bad as I have only made one since this committee has left my hands. It is not like I'm not supportive of their efforts as they have picked some pretty cool blocks. I just have not been able to find the time to make one!

I also belong to the Teeny Weeny Paper Pieced Bee on Flickr. I love paper piecing but I did not participate in February due to my vacation and too many other projects to do. I am not going to participate in March. I need a little breathing space for catching up. I'll jump back in in April. I might challenge myself to make blocks smaller than 6 inches. Maybe 3 or 4 inches.

I think I am in pretty good shape right now. It was extremely motivating to participate in the Create Every Day Bee on Flickr for February. I made sure I was in my studio as often as humanly possible. I guess it is over today but it would be fun if it continued. Of course, that could be considered stressful, too! :)

I thought I'd post Nancy's quilt top that she made for her father-in-law. It is really nice. Can't wait to see it quilted.

I bid a fond farewell to February from a creative standpoint. The weather has been awful (except for that fabulous week in Hawaii. I still have a little tan!). Our local weatherman informed us that January/February of 2011 is the second snowiest Jan/Feb on record. I believe 1893 was in first place. What an honor! NOT!!! We are on the downside of winter now and soon the snow will be a distant memory.

See you in March!
