Lost Opportunities

Where do I begin? I did manage to finish the owl baby quilt top last week. Now I must quilt it and get it shipped off to the new baby. So I did do something in January.

Here's what I did not get done: The pillow for the Madrona Road challenge at the Seacoast Modern Quilt Guild. Also of the list for this guild is to make a name tag. I wasn't able to go to the monthly meeting because we are in puppy training so I didn't get to see the twister ruler demo. Call me crazy but I am drawn to the finished products from that ruler. I am a bit bummed about missing all kinds of things and not getting one darn thing done. I'm very frustrated.

I'm hoping to have a quiet weekend this weekend and perhaps I'll be able to spend some time with my fabrics. I really wanted to make the pillow because the challenge fabrics go very nicely with my living room.

I'm going to slip in my frustration with a Flickr group I think I am in. No one talks so who knows? It will be 3 years in May that I sent a package to go on a journey. Some of the members had theirs completed and returned to them. I had done a block for all but one of the participants. My project was missing for a year. It was unopened in someone's room. I got a "sorry" for that. That was last summer. I have not heard one word since then. I have no idea where it is. I do believe I have given up with it. However, I am irritated about it and I think I should be. I feel cheated. I know life gets in the way. Please just say so. I think I would like to get my project back but the administrator of the group has gone missing.

Okay...rant over. Has Flickr run its course? Not that I could do anything right now but....there is never anything anymore. Used to be so much fun.

Well....I am just rambling right now because I am bored out of my mind. One eye on a puppy and the other rolled to the back of my head! Just kidding. That is a bad visual. Hehe. There is an eye on the pup at all times, believe me!!!

Hope you are all in some kind of creative nirvana. I'll get back to it, I'm sure.

  1. I also have not gotten my Madrona rd project done and have run out of time. AND, I am supposed to have a name tag made for our (Seattle Modern Quilt Guild) meeting and I don't have one. I have several valid reasons but that doesn't fully mitigate my feelings of dropping the ball. If you find motivation, let me know where you found it, I need some too! And truthfully, it isn't motivation, it is time ;-) Just wanted you to know you are NOT alone.

  2. i feel your pain debbie. yesterday i read a comment on our flickr group page and came unglued! i thought i was over it and had put it all behind me that i would never see my package but obviously i'm not.

i hope all is well with you and your family!
